Dublin Deer Project

Dublin Deer Project

Created for Dublin’s 2021 Utility Box Art Program, this public painting brings deer imagery into the everyday streetscape. Faceted blues and turquoise define the animals against a softly textured pink field, with grasses wrapping around the lower surfaces. The composition responds to the box as a three-dimensional object, inviting different views as pedestrians move around it. Photographs of the completed surfaces and the artist on site show the relationship between the painted image, the scale of the structure and its neighborhood setting.
