Nini Glonti

BIO

Nini Glonti is a visual artist and illustrator based in Tbilisi, Georgia. Working across acrylic, oil, watercolor, ink and mixed media, she creates narrative and atmospheric works shaped by folklore, memory, symbolism, nature and imagined worlds.

Her practice moves between large-scale painting and illustration, often featuring unusual characters and theatrical or surreal environments. In 2025, she created a series of seven large-scale paintings based on an original fairy tale she wrote, with each painting functioning as a connected chapter of the story.

Alongside her independent artistic practice and exhibitions, she has professional experience in graphic design and is interested in developing her work through international art licensing, publishing, print, cultural and commercial collaborations.

Artist Statement

My work begins with the idea of creating a world rather than simply depicting a single image. I am interested in characters, symbols and environments that feel as though they belong to a larger story, even when that story is not fully explained.

Folklore, memory, nature and imagined narratives often enter my work, but I reinterpret them through my own visual language. I am drawn to unusual figures, theatrical compositions and the tension between beauty, strangeness and mystery.

I work primarily with traditional media, including acrylic, oil, watercolor and ink. The physical qualities of these materials — their texture, imperfections and unpredictability — are an important part of the final image.

Whether I am creating a large-scale painting or a small illustration, I want the viewer to feel that they have encountered a fragment of an unfamiliar world and are free to imagine what exists beyond the image.
